1. INTRODUCTION
Spotter ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Spotter mobile application
(the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we
use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. DATA WE COLLECT
2.1 Account data
- Email address — required for account creation and authentication.
- Display name, first name, last name — optional, provided by you during
registration.
- Nickname — chosen by you; visible to other users.
- Profile photo — if you upload one.
2.2 Content you create
- Car photos — images you take or select from your gallery when spotting
a car. Photos are uploaded to our servers and processed by AI.
- Spot data — car make/model/generation you confirm, XP earned,
verification status.
2.3 Usage data
- App activity (spots created, sets completed, XP earned).
- Device type, operating system version, and app version — collected
automatically via Firebase Analytics.
2.4 Authentication via Apple
If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple user identifier and,
optionally, your name and email as provided by Apple.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
- To provide and operate the App: all account and content data.
- AI-powered car identification: car photos are sent to Google Gemini AI.
- To display your collection and stats: spot data, XP, level.
- Social features (followers, profiles): nickname, spot count, level.
- To improve the App: anonymized usage data.
- To prevent abuse and enforce limits: usage data, plan status.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — account login.
Firebase Firestore (Google LLC) — storing user profiles and spots.
Firebase Storage (Google LLC) — storing car photos.
Google Gemini AI (Google LLC) — AI car identification from photos.
Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — app usage analytics.

All Firebase services are hosted in the europe-central2 region
(Warsaw, Poland).
5. DATA RETENTION
Your account data and spots are stored for as long as your account is
active. When you delete your account via the app (Profile > Delete
Account), all your personal data — including profile, spots, and photos
— is permanently deleted.
Anonymized analytics data may be retained for up to 14 months per
Google's standard analytics retention policy.
6. DATA SHARING
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:
- With third-party services listed in Section 4, solely to operate
the App.
- If required by law or to protect the rights of users or the company.
Social features: your nickname, level, and spot count are visible to
other users of the App. Car photos you post are publicly visible within
the App.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect
personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided
us with personal data, please contact us.
8. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data — use the "Delete Account" button in the App, or
contact us.
- Data portability — request a copy of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time.

9. SECURITY
We use industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption
in transit and Firebase security rules. However, no method of
transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you
of significant changes via an in-app notice or email. Continued use of
the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
